Kerrin Hickey is our CORU registered Occupational Therapist, specialising in Paediatrics. Kerrin has training in the Handwriting Without Tears Programme (c) and Lámh Module 1.
As an Occupational Therapist, Kerrin focuses on helping children and adolescents complete meaningful activities that occupy their time. This includes supporting her clients to learn, develop, and adapt their skills, to increase their confidence and engagement in the childhood occupational areas of selfcare, education and play. Kerrin works cohesively not only with the team but with the child’s community as a whole; promoting inclusion, awareness and understanding among family members, caregivers and educators. Kerrin uses a child and family centred-approach to guide her planning and seeks creative evidence-based interventions to support her clients. Kerrin has a passion for working with children which is evident in her interactions.
Kerrin has over ten years experience working with the paediatric population, which includes working as an SNA, an AIMs Support Worker, an afterschool club facilitator and she has a Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education.
