Janette Casey is our resident qualified accredited Psychotherapist, with a post graduate diploma in Play Therapy. Janette’s caseload consists of working therapeutically with all young children from 3 years of age with emotional and behavioural difficulties (e.g. mutism, anger, communication difficulties, social exclusion etc.) in a non-direct way, to produce a natural positive outcome. Janette’s work involves a more directive approach with teenagers who are experiencing distress, depression, exclusion, bereavement, anxiety etc. this work involves a combination of behavioural therapy (PBT) and counselling. Adults are also supported within our facility through our parent support system and counselling. All interventions are evidence based within this department and are outcomes focused. Janette is also a clinical supervisor to junior play therapists, counsellors and psychotherapists. She strictly adheres to ethical codes of practice - including clinical supervision, CPD (continued professional development) and clinical governance and abides by Ireland’s child protection guidelines – ‘Children First’ This department is externally audited annually.
